Charlie's First Pie

mmm, yummyApple, of course. My sister got him some kids' baking implements for christmas, and he loves rolling out bits of dough, but this is the first time he's made something edible.  We unrolled some storebought crust together, he pressed the tin in to cut a top, and I cut around it to make a bottom. We pressed the bottom into the pan. Then he cut up some peeled apples with his bench knife, put them into the bottom and dusted with cinnamon and sugar. We put the top on and I folded it around, and J put it in the oven for about 20 minutes.

I even tasted some, and it didn't suck. Whee! If he doesn't make it as a
fireman or a bus driver, there's always famous chef.

Yeah Charlie!

May I suggest this for a next effort by the future chef:

Mmmm, pizza. He likes yeasted doughs, the problem is getting a barely-3-year-old to roll something out without incorporating a boatload of other ingredients that make the final process less than appetizing.

We're also thinking about working through <http://store.sesameworkshop.org/product/show/6690>, which he also got over the holidays. (It's not actually a very good cookbook, but we have a soft spot for Sesame Street from the days when J used to work at CTW)
