Like a Fairytale

Went to Toledo for J's brother's wedding. It was fun, sorta. I am always amazed by the Huge Retail Establishments (Meijer) of the midwest, and would love to spend hours browsing. The wedding itself was low-key, at country club that has clearly seen better days but still has gorgeous vistas next to the first tee. There was no "obey", no discussion of the duty to procreate, so I figure we got off easy with cold roasted potatoes, oversalted chicken and tasteless lasagna bites. (C and his 10-year-old cousin had kid's meals that made the grownup versions taste palatable, including steak fires so leathery that I could not steel myself to bite through one.)

C and all the other kids rocked out to 70s and 80s music on the dance floor. Now if only I had drunk enough to block out the conversations with the uncle who believes in intelligent design because he once smoked enough hash to have an out-of-body experience.

Oh, and the zoo!
